OSSLT
The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test will take place on April 10th, 2018. Students in grade 10 and those who are previously eligible will write the test.
Students with IEPs have conferenced with their SERTS about OSSLT test accommodations and have received information about these accommodations to share with parents. This information was sent home with students (via their homerooms) just before the break. Parents – please ask your student about this letter if you have not received it.
The TIPS preparation program for those students who would like additional test prep support is running every Tuesday and Thursday after school in the BNC library from 2:30pm to 4:00pm. All test writers are welcome and encouraged to attend! These sessions will run until April 5th. Students will also engage in practice tests and other test preparation activities in their classes.

Discovery Days in Health Science – McMaster University
(from the Discovery Days website)
Discovery Days are one-day workshops that give secondary school students (primarily Grade 11) the opportunity to explore a variety of career options in medicine and the health sciences.
A Discovery Day comprises a dynamic keynote lecture, interactive workshops, and a career panel discussion. Students gain a clear picture of what it would be like to be a health professional by interacting with researchers, clinicians, and educators in their real-life work setting. Pre-registration is required.
