EXAMS

As the semester winds down, we are entering the exam period. Please click on the links below to find information related to exam schedules and dates.

Student Evaluation Information

Evaluation Schedule

If you have an IEP and will be using accommodations for your exams, you need to pick up an “Exam Accommodations” form outside of Room 102. Take this form to each of your teachers and work with them to fill it out. Finally, bring the form back to Room 104 (you can give it to any staff member) by Friday, January 15th.

Also, it is important to note that all assignments, for all courses, MUST be submitted by Thursday, January 21st to the appropriate teacher.

Math EQAO

The Grade 9 Provincial Math Tests will take place on January 19th and 20th. If you have Grade 9 Math this semester, you will be participating in these assessments. Ensure you study for them, as they count towards your final mark in your Grade 9 Math course.

New York Times Student Council

Are you interested in a career in Journalism or Public Relations? Do you simply like to read the New York Times? If so, consider applying to the NY Times Student Council. It’s a fantastic opportunity. You would have to:

Read The Times daily, or as close to daily as you can. If you aren’t already a Times digital subscriber, we’ll get you free access.

Make a list of the pieces that you find most interesting and that you think other people your age would also enjoy. Each week you’ll pick one or two and, in a couple of sentences, tell us why you chose them.

Post a comment once or twice during the semester on our biweekly Film Club discussion to get the conversation going.

Work virtually with fellow council members to conceive and create some posts for The Learning Network.

At the end of the semester, write up a short reflection for us about your experiences, and what The Learning Network and The Times might learn from them” (from the NY Times website).

Click the text above to learn more and apply (the deadline is January 12th at 5pm).
