Are you interested in social entrepreneurship or business? Do you like working with other people to solve problems? Do you like friendly competition and working with teens from across the city? If so, you should consider participating in the Impact Cup.
At this event, you will work with professional coaches, mentors, entrepreneurs, co-founders, financial specialists and other community leaders to build a start-up. You will learn the process of launching a project, conducting a needs analysis, developing your project plan and presenting your final work amongst the participants. Prizes will be awarded!
The event will take place on October 23rd and 24th at the Holly Rec Centre. For those who have already registered, please note the change in location. This is due to the strike at Georgian College that began today. The days will run from 9am until 4pm at Holly. Students who do sign-up are doing so independently – this is not a North field trip.
For those students who are in Grade 11 or 12, this is an excellent opportunity that could be included in your portfolio or resume for post-secondary applications.
